Members of
the Cycle Coventry Advisory Group went on a site visit in early November.
The route is from Spon Street to Eastern Green. Particular issues were at Butts Road, Hearsall Common and Tile Hill Lane west of the A45.
Latest comments on route 4.
Would it be possible to extend the cycle path on Hearsall Common ~200m along Broad Lane to Guphill Avenue? Guphill Avenue already has a cycle gate at one end and would provide a link into Allesley Park.
ReplyDeleteCycling into town isn't too much of a problem, but cycling out of town you have to cross Broad Lane and then try and join the traffic on the exit from the roundabout. You then have to turn right into Guphill Avenue with cars coming up behind you at upto 40mph.
Peter.

I tried cycling to the Sainsburys Canley Superstore today. It was OK until I got to Malfunction" Junction", but had to push my bike the last bit as the roads are too hairy and the pavements too narrow. The cycle racks at Cannon Park (Tesco) are overflowing but I couldn't find any Sainsburys. Could the be asked to subsidise a link and some cycle parking?

Hello Peter,
DeleteWith regard to cycle parking, the owners of the Alvis Retail Park want to change the layout of its car parking. But no cycle parking is planned! See Coventry Council planning application FUL/2013/0350
